The Koonce Legacy Trail offers insight and inspiration through the remarkable history of Solomon Koonce, Sr., and his descendants. Join us for a two-hour bus tour of Maury City, Alamo, and the surrounding area. Learn about and be inspired by the rich history of Koonce leadership, spirituality, and strong community roots in Crockett County. The family made significant contributions as farmers, sharecroppers, military service members, and leaders in both church and education. Discover where your ancestors lived, worked, attended school, and land that is still in the Koonce family after 200 years. You will see cemeteries, schools, churches, streets, homes, and much more. There will also be a ‘special presentation’ at the grave site of Solomon Koonce, Sr.

Be prepared to cry, laugh, and take pictures!!!! But most importantly, be prepared to learn more about who you are and where your talents, gifts, work ethic, and personality traits were derived from… It's in your DNA!!!!!!

Please make your reservation as soon as possible so we will know how many buses will be needed.  You don't want to miss this! (Bus seating cannot be guaranteed for late registrations.)

TINA TURNER HOMETOWN MUSEUM Saturday Sept. 5th

 Brownsville, Tennessee

The world's only museum to Tina Turner, "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll," is in the historic blacks-only one-room schoolhouse she attended as a child before moving to St. Louis, Missouri.   The school stood in Nutbush, Tina's nearby hometown, before it was moved to this site in 2012.

We will also visit Tina's much-talked-about new statue!
